  • We’ve had a lot of inquiries about master’s degree options in Europe. Good news! There are even more English-taught options for master’s than bachelor’s.   • I want to talk a bit about Estonia this week. If you’ve ever heard me talk, you know I’m a bit in love with this country. Ellie and I are going to visit schools in Finland in late August, and I’m hoping to take the ferry over and stay for a few days then. Given the fact that I loved it in the winter, I can only imagine how amazing it is in the summer.  Universities in Estonia offer 18 English taught bachelors degree programs that range from 3100-6000 euros per year.  There are 62 English taught master’s degree programs, ranging from 500-13100 (and I’m not missing a zero on the 500…). Additionally there are 2 single cycle programs that range from 8800-11000 euros per year.   • Countries in Europe are cautiously easing up on restrictions. Additionally, many universities are planning for fall in ways that will prevent large gatherings (like lectures) and hopefully prevent a total shutdown if there is a second wave. Blended learning is likely to be a popular strategy, with in person small group seminars, but online lectures.  The entire set up of European campuses (decentralized, different housing model) is such that they are able to approach this in ways that are difficult or US universities to consider.
