CONSENT TO COLLECTION, USE AND DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA
ApplyBoard Inc. (“ApplyBoard”) is the controller of your personal data. Your personal data is collected by the international education consultant, counsellor, advisor, agent or recruiter that has furnished this consent form (“Partner”) on ApplyBoard’s behalf. Your personal data may be used for the following purposes: admissions; identifying appropriate academic programs and application processes; communicating ApplyBoard and Partner activities and accomplishments; recruiting students; marketing; research; visa application and status updates; maintaining visa status and related records; and appropriate medical and accommodation information for students studying abroad. The categories of personal data you are being asked to consent to ApplyBoard’s collection and use are your name, address, email address, passport or other identification, telephone number, academic records, and other data related to the purposes described in this paragraph and normal operations of a university or other
post secondary institution.
ApplyBoard will share your personal data with the Partner who collects, stores and processes your personal data on behalf of ApplyBoard and who is contractually obligated to keep your personal data confidential subject to appropriate safeguards to prevent it from unauthorized disclosure. ApplyBoard also intends to share your personal data with: appropriate internal institutional business units and departments as required during the course of your attendance at a post secondary institution; partner schools administering programs that you are participating in; the government (required for student
visas, and other ID documents); and faculty members who have a legitimate need for the data, and payment processors in the event you select to use ApplyBoard’s third party payment processing services.
Your personal data may be transferred out of the Partner’s jurisdiction to ApplyBoard Inc., which is located in Canada and has operations in India. You consent
to such transfer and understand that your data will be subject to Canada and possibly India’s jurisdiction, depending on the servers we use to store such data, and may also be located in the United States.
Your personal data will be stored in accordance with the academic/business needs of ApplyBoard, any record retention requirements applicable to
ApplyBoard, and any other applicable laws.
Please note that you have the right to request access to, rectify, erase and restrict the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to revoke this
consent to use your personal data. If you reside in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, and you are not satisfied with how we attended to your rights
and requests, you can lodge a complaint with your local Data Protection Authority. These rights are more specifically described in the Privacy Notices posted
