Jenn Viemont loves traveling and has made it her priority to expose her kids to other countries and cultures. She loves to get a deeper feel for the cities she visits by eating, shopping, and residing in areas populated by locals. She lives in Chapel Hill with her husband, her teenager daughter, Ellie, and dog. Her son, Sam, is attending Leiden University in The Hague.

  • We’re in Lisbon for the next few weeks, apartment hunting and dealing with other moving related logistics. Portugal has 107 English taught master’s degree programs, but only 10 English taught bachelor’s. Cost of living is one thing that brought us to the country and that affordability extends to tuition as well- 79 of of the 117 programs cost under $6000 per year!   • Romania has a lot to offer international students, including 205 English-taught bachelor’s and master’s degree programs that range from $2200-10,500 per year.   • I read an article earlier this week that quoted Mike Pompeo saying “Do you think Americans care about Ukraine?” to a reporter. Not really the perspective of a global citizen...   • I love how easy it is to get around and explore Europe. Tom and Sam spent the weekend in Prague and I was able to get Sam’s ticket for $100!  The Czech Republic is one of my favorite options for students looking for high quality and affordable tuition and cost of living.  They offer 342 English-taught bachelor’s and master’s degree programs.  Get this-almost all of the programs (314) cost between $215-7000 per year!  By the way, that is two hundred fifteen dollars-I didn’t forget a zero!
