Åbo Akademi University is a Swedish-language multidisciplinary university located in Turku, Finland. It was founded in 1918 and is the only exclusively Swedish-language university in Finland. Student Life
The university is spread across two main campuses: one in the city of Åbo (‘Turku’ in Finnish) and the other in the city of Vasa (‘Vaasa’ in Finnish). Which campus you study at will depend on your chosen program, but both campuses are recognized equally on an international level for their contributions to research as well as their overall excellence in the world of academia.
Student Union Membership is compulsory by law, but the benefits it brings are worth it. In order to be registered as present and have the right to study, receive credits, and have your study results registered, you must pay the student union fee.
Housing
The university provides housing in student residences, with prices ranging from 225 to 300 euros per month.
