Why should I study here?

The BA School of Business and Finance (BASBF) is one of the leading self-financing business schools in Latvia. From a legal point of view, BASBF is a derived public person. BASBF has been conferred its own autonomous competence by law, which includes also establishing and approving its own budget. Such a person may have their own property. It was founded in 1992 as a banking college under the Bank of Latvia and in 1997 it was accredited as a higher educational institution. It is today known as the BA School of Business and Finance, offering studies to more than 924 students.

In 2017, the BA School of Business and Finance celebrated its 25th anniversary. BASBF is proud of its more than 11,200 alumni. The BA School of Business and Finance was included in the Registry of scientific institutions on February 2, 2016.My most important directions of work are to further develop the study offer of the BA School of Business and Finance by creating modern interdisciplinary programs that include an increase in study value, research capacity, and international recognition and cooperation as a university that promotes change in society.

Thanks to the university team for their support and promotion of everything new! Students, I encourage you to actively use the growth opportunities provided by the university and actively participate in the changes of the university to develop your personality, cooperation, and belonging to the BA School of Business and Finance!

What are the admissions criteria?

The deadline for admissions is June 15th.  Along with the application, applicants need to submit a CV, a copy of their passport, and a legalized transcript or diploma (see the country page for more information on this). If English is not your native language, proof of English proficiency is required.

What is student life like?

After their studying hours, students of the BA School of Business and Finance have sports activities in a gym situated in Kr. Valdemra Str. 163. The time in the gym is devoted to basketball and volleyball, as well as to football (including the training of the school football team) and tennis.

There are different cultural, sports, and recreational events at BA in which students, personnel, and BA friends participate. At the beginning of the academic year, national holidays and graduation parties are celebrated.BA celebrates every academic year’s conclusion by organizing an annual informal event called "Picnic". BA students, academic staff, and employees are invited to spend a relaxing and entertaining day together. Sports fans could participate in serious volleyball matches or boating, but those who like amusement could choose team relay races or trampolines.

The event moderator took care of humor and fun. The participants of the outing are offered soup and BA cake.BA School of Business and Finance –
