Notes
Budapest Business University transitioned from a college to a university of applied science a year ago. Basically, this means that instead of a pure vocational focus, they also focus on the theoretical side of business in their programs. It’s essentially striving to teach a balance of practical and theoretical knowledge. Though the first few years of a transition can be difficult, the administrators I met with were enthusiastic about the change as well as the opportunities within their university for international students. The students I met with noted that most, but not all, of their professors are accessible and approachable, and that their classes are a mix of seminars and lectures, with lectures accounting for a little more than half of a normal semester. One thing that sets Budapest Business School apart is the opportunity the students have for intensive business-related language learning in Japanese, Korean, Chinese, or Arabic.
