Why should I study here?

Founded in Milan in 1921 by Father Agostino Gemelli, the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore is Europe's most important Catholic university.

What are the admissions criteria?

American students need at least 3 AP scores of 3+ or an IB. If applying to the Economics program, one of the AP tests must be in Calculus, though high math SAT score could substitute for the math AP so long as 3 other APs are submitted.

SAT scores, transcripts, and a motivational letter are also required. Applicants also need to include a photocopy of their passport. Students from non-Anglophone countries must provide proof of English proficiency. There are 3 admissions periods for non-EU students, which begin as early as November and end on April 15th.  Applicants are notified of decisions in March, April, or May, depending on their application period. Applicants to the medicine program must apply by February 1st. Admissions decisions are based solely on the results of admissions tests, which have questions related to general knowledge, logic, biology, chemistry, physics, and math. Exams are held in February in many cities globally.

What is student life like?

Our Milan campus is located on the hallowed turf. Developed around the original site of a monastery in the very heart of the city. Our Doric and Ionic cloisters provide a haven of peace and grace within a city that offers an abundance of food, history, heritage, and choice. Milan is Italy’s, commercial heart. Piacenza is located in the culinary heartland of Italy, in a medieval town that is surrounded by the enchanting Italian countryside. Piacenza is quintessential Italy. Charming. Beautiful. Historic.

Our Brescia campus is a hidden jewel. Once experienced, it's never forgotten. Despite being a small campus, the location is unforgettable. The Centro Universitario Sportivo (CUS) is an association that promotes sports and physical education for university students in Milan. The CUS information point is located at the Milan campus, Largo A. Gemelli, 1. GetFIT is a trendy gymnasium located just 5 minutes walking distance from the Cattolica Milan campus, boasting added value with a sauna, swimming pool, and squash courts.

Special gym subscriptions are available to Cattolica international students thanks to the collaboration between Università Cattolica and GetFIT gym. The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) is an invaluable support network for international students. They organize numerous social and cultural events, tours, and recreational activities.

Scholarships & Funding

A flat tuition fee is applied to international students residing outside the European Union and associated states. The full tuition fee amount is €8040 per year. However, this amount can be discounted if candidates request the “UCSC International Scholarship” while filling out the online application. The UCSC International Scholarship is an annual tuition fee reduction promoted by Università Cattolica in order to foster international students' access to degree programs.

The discount covers about 37% of the total cost. Applicants are notified of the award by e-mail when they receive an offer for admission. The annual tuition fee applicable to undergraduate students who receive the UCSC International Scholarship is €5000. Also, more information on aid is here

Housing options.

The school does not guarantee housing, but students can receive assistance in finding housing through the Milan International Living Service or the International Student Association.  Housing ranges from about 500-800 euros per month.
