Why should I study here?

At IU you’ll find a wide range of online and campus degree programmes, for Bachelor, Master or MBA studies. With over 20 years of experience, IU offers a unique online campus and support systems, as well as full campus life immersion at our two locations in Berlin and Bad Honnef. All the IU staff are working together to offer you a high-quality learning experience – with maximum flexibility.

What are the admissions criteria?

The application deadline is July 1st. Germany has changed their admissions requirements again, starting for the 2021-22 school year, and now accepts AP scores! Students who want to apply to programs related to Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Economics need scores of 3+ in English. A foreign language that needs to be French, Spanish, Latin or German, Math or natural science which can be Calc, Bio, Chem, or both Physics C tests. In addition, I score in European History, American History, Computer Science, or Macro+Micro Economics. 

Students who want to apply for programs centered around Math, Science, and Technology need scores of 3+ in Math (specifically Calculus). Natural Science (Bio, Chem, or both Physics C tests). Language (French, Latin, German, Spanish, or English Lit or Lang/Comp). Addition score in European History, American History, Computer Science, or Macro+Micro Economics. 

Alternately, students with an IB diploma, an associate's degree, and 2 years of college credits (including specified courses) are also admissible

What is student life like?

IU's campuses in Germany are excellently located in Berlin and in Bad-Honnef, right next to Cologne, so that you enjoy life as a student while working hard to achieve your goals. For students attending a semester or more at IU's campus in Bad Honnef, they offer the possibility of accommodation. You can rent a student room in a shared flat, in one of our six blocks of modern flats, either directly on campus or just a short walk away. Berlin students enjoy nightlife, internationality, central location, and modern facilities bad Honnef students enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, nature, closeness to students, and sports clubs. The campus in Bad Honnef has Rugby Team, Basketball Team, Dancing Club, Volleyball Team, Handball Team, Kickboxing Club, Running Club, Soccer Team, Tennis Team, and Chef Society, among many others.

Housing options.

For students at our Bad-Honnef campus, we offer the possibility of on-campus accommodation, in six modern apartment blocks. The student apartments are located either right at the heart of campus, or just a two-minute walk away; are fully furnished and with Wi-Fi; and also include a shared laundry room. Experience campus life to the fullest, in an intimate town, combining privacy and being surrounded by friends and colleagues, on your own or in a shared apartment. Or, you can live close by, and rent an apartment or a shared room in the bustling cities Bonn or Cologne, and combine living in a big city with studying on a quiet campus.  For students at our Berlin campus, on-campus accommodation is not available. However, we do offer help with finding an apartment in the city, or a room in one of its many shared apartments. Due to the campus’ central location, at the heart of Berlin, it’s easily accessible by public transportation or bicycle.
