Why should I study here?

JAMK University of Applied Sciences is an international higher education institution with expertise in 8 different fields of study. We are your global partner whether you want to develop individuals in your organisation or an entire education system. Furthermore, JAMK is an excellent partner in academic staff and student mobility.JAMK has several campuses in the city of Jyväskylä and a campus in Saarijärvi. City of Jyväskylä is located in Central Finland.

What are the admissions criteria?

Students apply using the joint application form on studyinfo.fi between January 10th-25th.  Since a high school diploma is technically needed to apply, students who are in their final year of high school should check with the school to see if they could be considered for discretionary admission (which basically means that the school allows you to apply for provisional consideration).  Applicants from non-anglophone countries need to submit English proficiency test scores and all applicants need to include a photocopy of their passport. Finnish UAS programs require entrance exams which are held in April of each year.  There are several locations worldwide for the entrance exams, though some programs/schools require that the exam is taken in Finland.  Some programs allow SAT scores to substitute for the entrance exam.

What is student life like?

Yoga or ice hockey, volleyball or frisbee golf, Zumba or gym exercise? What is your choice? There are a variety of ball games, group exercise opportunities, and sports events on offer for UAS students. Additionally, JAMKO negotiates membership benefits for its members on different sports and exercise-related courses and events.

Scholarships & Funding

Housing options.

JAMK does not provide student accommodation. In Jyväskylä, student accommodation is provided by KOAS. The rents of KOAS apartments are usually lower than in the free market because the foundation does not aim at making a profit. Students can live in the accommodation provided by Koas during their entire enrolment period.KOAS has several dozens of accommodation units in 27 locations, in different parts of Jyväskylä. KOAS offers student flats for over 4000 students. The majority of the apartments are small flats, studios, two-roomed flats, and cell apartments for two or three students. Some cell apartments are furnished (bed, mattress, desk, chair, a kitchen table, and chairs).
