Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) is a public university located in Lublin, Poland. It was founded in 1944 and is named after the Polish-born French physicist Marie Curie, who discovered radium and polonium. UMCS is the largest university in eastern Poland, with over 24,000 students and 2,000 faculty members.
