What are the admissions criteria?

Sweden uses a centralized admissions process for all higher education programs.  Applicants apply online, to the programs they are interested in. No entrance tests are required, as the basic admission criteria are a high school diploma and English proficiency. In addition, programs may have their own requirements for eligibility. Applicants also need to include a photocopy of their passport. Another thing to note, students who are in their final year of high school can not apply until after they graduate, since they don't have a diploma.  Given that the application deadline for international students is January 15th, most students will not be able to apply for fall admission directly after high school. Also of note-no matter how many programs an applicant applies to, they will get only one offer.  Applicants are first evaluated for their first choice school.  If they meet the eligibility requirements they are admitted.  If not, they are evaluated for their second choice school, and so on.

What is student life like?

Geographically, Mid Sweden University is located in the middle of Sweden, right at the heart of Northern Europe. Mid Sweden University has two campuses: Sundsvall and Östersund. They differ in character and partially in the course programs offered. At Mid Sweden University there are student unions looking after your interests concerning your education and questions related to the social aspects of student life. The student union endeavors to see to it that you get as good an education as possible and that your days of study are as good as they can be.
