Over the next ten years, all of NTNU’s academic communities in Trondheim will be gathered from dispersed locations to a single campus in the area around Gløshaugen. The Norwegian State will fund new buildings totaling 92 000 square meters and the modernization of up to 45 000 square meters of existing areas at NTNU. All students at NTNU can join NTNUI, which is Norway's largest and most diverse sports association. One of the most popular activities for international students is hiking or skiing to an NTNUI choice, which is a network of small cabins spread across the county of Trøndelag.
