Why should I study here?

In 2013, the university was renamed Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm in recognition of the applied research and educational quality of our programs. We are very proud of this recognition, but also of the history preceding and culminating in the achievement.The Nuremberg Institute of Technology has a distinct profile and strives to maintain its leading position among its competitors. Our comprehensive success in teaching, research and management has shown that we are on the right path. For the next few years and decades to come, our goals will remain the same: to take on trend-setting developments and bring about lasting changes.

What are the admissions criteria?

The application period usually starts in March and the deadline is July 15th. Germany has changed their admissions requirements again, starting for the 2021-22 school year, and now accepts AP scores!  Students who want to apply to programs related to Humanities, Social Sciences,Law, and Economics need scores of 3+ in:EnglishForeign language that needs to be French, Spanish, Latin or German, Math or natural science which can be calc, Bio, Chem, or both Physics C testsAddition score in European History, American History, Computer Science or Macro+Micro EconomicsStudents who want to apply for programs around Math, Science, and Technology need scores of 3+ in:Math (specifically Calc)Natural Science (Bio, Chem, or both Physics C tests)Language (French, Latin, German, Spanish or English Lit or Lang/Comp)Addition score in European History, American History, Computer Science or Macro+Micro Economics.Alternately, students with an IB diploma, an Associates degree, 2 years of college credits (including specified courses) are also admissible.

What is student life like?

OHM creates... futures" is one of the quality claims of Nuremberg Tech. With more than 40 programs in twelve departments and an award-winning continuing education model, you are sure to find the right career path. Students will benefit from an extensive company network that includes companies known worldwide such as Deutsche Bank, Siemens, Adidas, Puma, Staedtler, Audi, and BMW. The full-time teaching staff has both excellent academic and professional credentials, and the part-time lecturers hold top managerial positions in major international companies.

Housing options.

All exchange/program students of the Nuremberg Institute of Technology can be allocated a room in one of the student residence halls for the period of their stays (max. 2 semesters). These halls are administered by the student services (Studentenwerk) Nuremberg-Erlangen. The rental terms and conditions are mentioned in the special tenancy (SOK). Exchange students can only apply for a room in the student residence halls if they accept all the terms and conditions mentioned in the SOK.
