Why should I study here?

Cologne University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1971 as a fusion of renowned predecessor institutions.

What are the admissions criteria?

Germany has changed their admissions requirements again, starting for the 2021-22 school year, and now accepts AP scores!  Students who want to apply to programs related to Humanities, Social Sciences, Law, and Economics need scores of 3+ in English. A foreign language that needs to be French, Spanish, Latin or German, Math or natural science which can be Calc, Bio, Chem, or both Physics C tests. In addition, I score in European History, American History, Computer Science, or Macro+Micro Economics. 

Students who want to apply for programs centered around Math, Science, and Technology need scores of 3+ in Math (specifically Calculus). Natural Science (Bio, Chem, or both Physics C tests). Language (French, Latin, German, Spanish, or English Lit or Lang/Comp). Addition score in European History, American History, Computer Science, or Macro+Micro Economics. 

Alternately, students with an IB diploma, an associate's degree, and 2 years of college credits (including specified courses) are also admissible

What is student life like?

International student associations are established by international students who pursue a common goal. These groups are enrolled on request in the matriculation register of the University of Cologne and are therefore effectively organs of this university, with all rights and duties. As a rule, they are led by international students, but German students and students of other origins can also become members or even lead these groups.

Housing options.

Space in the Cologne student residences is limited and works on a first come, first-served basis so apply early.  Rooms in the student residences generally range from 180-350 euros per month. and renting a room in an apartment ranges from 220-400 euros a month.
