Why should I study here?

UCN and the other university colleges were formed as a result of the Danish Act on university colleges of higher education, which was adopted by the Danish parliament in 2007. Today the sector consists of seven university colleges and two schools of engineering.

What are the admissions criteria?

While each school has its own set of requirements, there are certain minimum requirements for admission. An IB diploma meets there requirements, as does one year of college credit.  US students can meet the requirement with 3 AP scores of 3+.International requirements can be found here:  http://ufm.dk/en/education-and-institutions/recognition-and-transparency/recognition-guide.  Students from non-anglophone countries must demonstrate English proficiency through IELTS or TOEFL scores and all applicants must submit a copy of their passport. The Danish application is called the Coordinated Enrollment System or "KOT". Students can apply at up to 8 programs or apply for all the schools in the country. You rank the schools in order of preference when you apply. If you qualify for more than one, you get your highest choice pick. You won’t be accepted at more than one. The application deadline is March 15th for non-EU students. You should hear back by June 1st.

What is student life like?

We have gathered important practical information about coming to Denmark for inbound students. Learn more about accommodation and the rules for working while studying, and get answers to frequently asked questions about life in Denmark.

Denmark is located in Northern Europe and is a small country in Scandinavia with one of the world’s oldest monarchies. Denmark has a rich history that stretches back to the Viking Age around the year 1000.

Denmark has 406 islands and the highest point in the country is only 170 meters above sea level. No place in Denmark is more than 50 km from the sea. Student Forum UCN is a council for students at UCN and was formed on requests for more student involvement and influence on UCN. We are seeing the organization becoming more uniform, and this means that many decisions have an impact across study programs and campuses, which is why we, the students, should have a common voice within the organization.

That is why Student Forum UCN will champion the students' interests by exercising its influence on decision-making processes in UCN's governing bodies and act as the link between the students and the Rectorate.
