Why should I study here?

UAS BFI Vienna, University for Economics, Management, and Finance, has been providing authoritative, high-quality business education with a special emphasis on Europe. 15 years ago, we also introduced our university continuing education programmes – a move which our students, customers, and partners welcomed with open arms. UAS BFI Vienna offers students comprehensive, practice-led business education and development programmes that are compatible with part-time employment and open up exciting career opportunities. Our research drives innovation. Centred around focus areas involving cross-over between our various degree programmes, the interdisciplinary research we carry out targets current and future challenges facing businesses and society. We think lifelong learning is important.

What are the admissions criteria?

An interview and an entrance test are required. Students from non-anglophone countries must also submit proof of English proficiency. Applicants also need to include a photocopy of their passport.

What is student life like?

The university is situated in a lively location in Vienna’s second district: the first district, with Museumsquartier and Rathausplatz just a short trip away on the U2 underground line. You can reach the Praterstern interchange in just two minutes, or take time out in the Prater park – the options are almost endless. The university is located on three different sites. The main building is close to the U2 station, Messe Prater, just a short walk from the leafy surroundings of Prater park. You will also find the university’s main library there. The Media Quarter Marx site is located next to the Puls4 and Pro7 media groups.

Additional notes.

Austria's Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences began in 1994 and now educate 50,000 students in the country.  There UAS system in Austria is different than others I have experienced thus far.  Like other countries that have reputable UAS programs, there is a practical focus and an emphasis on providing students with the skills and knowledge they will need in the workforce.  In fact, the country-wide employment rate for graduates of UAS programs is 90%. Unlike UAS programs in other countries, almost all of the graduates go directly into master’s degree programs, and many graduates do continue on to study in Ph.D. programs.  Further, the entry requirements are not lowered necessarily lower for UAS programs in Austria.
