The University of Applied Sciences Stralsund (German: Hochschule Stralsund) is a public university of applied sciences located in Stralsund, Germany. It was founded in 1991 and has approximately 2,400 students from over 60 countries. The university is known for its focus on practical training and its close ties to industry.

As a campus university, HOST offers one of the most charming accommodation options: in a small village with a Scandinavian look and feel, located on campus – just a few steps from the Mensa (caféteria) and the schools. Apart from the university’s sports club, there are also other sports clubs in Stralsund that offer a wide variety of sports. Membership in a sports club is not very expensive. Members have to pay an annual membership fee and can then take part in all sports activities. The sports clubs in Stralsund offer a huge array of sports, ranging from basketball, handball, football, and volleyball to martial arts, gymnastics, and athletics.
Housing
Whether in student halls of residence, a shared flat, or your first own flat, this decision has to be made by you and should be made according to your own desires and available funds. Stralsund offers exceptionally good conditions and is not affected by overly expensive rental prices or a highly competitive property market like in other study locations and cities.
