Why should I study here?

University of Silesia in Katowice is one of the largest and most dynamically developing public universities in Poland. Founded in 1968, the University of Silesia quickly established a reputation as a vibrant academic institution and an important interdisciplinary research hub. With a tradition of launching new programs to best meet the needs of rapidly changing labor markets, the University of Silesia offers students a variety of programs and specialized fields of study. With outstanding research teams and well-equipped laboratories, we are an important player in the global research arena. We actively participate in European Commission initiatives focused both on educational and scientific development, and realize projects within the framework of programmes such as Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020.

What are the admissions criteria?

The application deadline is June–july. If there are still places left in the program, additional registration rounds may be opened.

What is student life like?

Studying at the University of Silesia is by no means limited to learning and attending lectures and classes. Being a student also means going to parties and living a dynamic life among your fellows. Our students undertake numerous independent initiatives, like inviting representatives of political or artistic circles to meetings or organizing concerts by some of their favorite bands. Our students attend in great numbers all sorts of mass events organized in the region - and enthusiastically take up volunteer work in initiatives related not only to sports or music but to all sorts of areas of their interests.
