Why should I study here?

The University of Zagreb was founded in 1669 which makes it the oldest university in Southeast Europe.

What are the admissions criteria?

The application deadline is June 20th.  Applications are completed online, but non-EU international students should contact the school to determine if entrance tests will be necessary. Applicants also need to include a photocopy of their passport. Those applying to the medicine program must take an entrance exam or submit SAT subject tests in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics with a minimum score of 600 for each. Exams are conducted globally. Applicants' grades are also assessed in the process, both the overall GPA and individual grades for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

What is student life like?

The University of Zagreb is in the process of building a new campus, “Borongaj” which is the biggest investment in Croatian education in the last 150 years, and when it is built (finished), it will be used by more than 20.000 students. The Campus was officially opened on October 12th, 2007 and for now it hosts 4 university units: Centre for Croatian Studies, Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Traffic Engineering, and Faculty of Economics and Business. Five other faculties are also planning to relocate to the Campus in the next few years. Besides the (re)construction of university buildings, the Campus will be home to a sports center, student residence hall, and a number of institutes.

All international students that want to take part in sports activities can do so by joining regular sports courses that are obligatory for regular students of the University in the first four semesters. The types of sports and activities range from aerobics to yoga, from fitness to ball sports and outdoor exercises.
