The central educational facility of the university, with its modern circular building, is a unique complex compared with the premises of Hungarian higher education institutions. Lectures are held in the lecture theaters of the circular building, each with a capacity of 360 people, and in the two smaller lecture halls of the main building. In addition, our facilities include 21 small and medium-sized seminar rooms with state-of-the-art educational technology and we also boast nine rooms equipped for IT courses.

The school has two dormitory options, with a third on the way, that is used primarily for international students. Most are double rooms with their own bath and shared kitchen, but there are some single rooms as well. Rooms range from 200–250 euros per month.

Notes
Budapest Metropolitan University is a private university of applied science that was founded in 2001. They emphasize hands on, practical learning that leads to employment. In fact, 86% of their graduates have employments within 5 months or graduation and 1/3 of those are hired where they completed their internships. The school has relationships with 400 Hungarian companies and 300 international companies for internships and job placements. The Career Center holds programs throughout the year to prepare students for employment. For instance, at the beginning of each semester students take a Career Management Class, This practical training is run by various companies and helps student learn skills around project proposal, professional communication, and overall presentation. Budapest is an interesting place to be for students in the media related programs. Filming for many American films takes place in Budapest. Students have done internships with with the production companies working on films like Angels and Demons, Inferno, and yet to be released Jennifer Lawrence movie! The facilities at Budapest Metropolitan University are fairly typical for a university of applied science. Though they aren’t held in architecturally impressive places like many of the older public universities, the buildings are well maintained and have modern equipment. The American students I spoke with are very pleased with their education at Budapest Metropolitan, particularly as it pertains to the accessibility of professors and small class size, which is usually around 15 students.
