Student Life
Lillebaelt Academy has campuses in the two cities Odense and Vejle, located in the region of Southern Denmark.2,500 students will be gathered at the new campus in Odense, and with the placement in the centre of Odense, the study environment will be fantastic. The contact with the local businesses will be strengthened, and the academy and the new campus will influence and shape the surroundings and life in Odense. Lillebaelt Academy in Vejle is placed in the centre of the education environment of Vejle. The new campus makes it easier to foster a great study environment, and the students have better opportunities to interact and work across the different study programs. We do not offer sports facilities on campus, however, the cities of Odense and Vejle offer many sports possibilities such as gyms and sports clubs. We know that there is more to life than lectures and exams, which is why we find it important that you have a good social environment. Social activities such as an introductory week, team building, events, parties etc. are just some of the things that you can expect as a student at Lillebaelt Academy. Party committees, Friday bar committees, or perhaps sports committees can be appointed under the responsibility of the two different councils. Being at eye level with the students is a central value. This is why student democracy is an important part of the organisation. The overall purpose is to make sure that there is an ongoing dialogue between the management and the students to secure an involving study environment and quality of our study programmes. At Lillebaelt Academy the students are represented on several levels and with different focuses. The study council is closely related to the study programmes and consists of representatives from all study programmes and the head of the department. The student council consists of representatives from the study councils and the principal. DSR deals with different themes of concern to the entire academy.
Housing
You are responsible for searching for and finding accommodation. There are many possibilities and until now we have managed to assist most international full-degree students to find accommodation. The monthly living costs including rent are approximately 5,000-6,000 DKK (corresponds to approximately 670-800 Euro). In Denmark, it is common to pay a deposit before moving in. The deposit usually corresponds to two-three months' rent and you also pay the first month’s rent in advance. Nordic and EU Citizens are guaranteed accommodation by the city of Odense. Our student helpers are also happy to assist you.
