Job Title: Content Creator & Social Media Specialist

Type: Part-time

Beyond the States helps American students and families discover opportunities to earn their degrees at universities across Europe.

We’re looking for someone who loves being in front of the camera, not just behind a content calendar.

This is a hands on content creation role. You’ll regularly film short form videos around Europe, visit universities and student destinations, create engaging TikTok and Instagram content, and help bring the experience of studying in Europe to life for American students and parents.

We already have a strong brand, a large database of European universities and programs, and plenty of topics to cover. What we need is someone who can turn those ideas into fun, authentic, useful video content that people actually want to watch.

What You’ll Do

  • Regularly appear on camera in short form videos for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms
  • Film content at universities, cities, student neighborhoods, cafés, housing, and other locations throughout EuropeCreate videos such as university tours, “what it’s really like” content, cost comparisons, student life features, tips for Americans considering university in Europe, and trending/reaction content
  • Take larger topics and turn them into engaging hooks and short form video concepts
  • Film and edit polished but authentic social content
  • Help develop and maintain a consistent social media content calendar
  • Publish content and help manage our social channels
  • Follow social trends and identify formats we can adapt for the Beyond the States audience
  • Occasionally interview students, university representatives, or other people on camera
  • Work with our team to promote new database features, university partners, webinars, resources, and services

Who We’re Looking For

The most important thing is that you are a content creator.

You should genuinely enjoy being on camera and be comfortable making yourself one of the recognizable faces of the Beyond the States brand.

You’re probably a great fit if you:

  • Are confident, personable, and natural on camera
  • Have experience creating TikToks, Reels, Shorts, or similar video content
  • Understand what makes someone stop scrolling and watch
  • Can film and edit your own content
  • Have a good eye for locations, framing, storytelling, and B roll
  • Can balance entertaining content with genuinely useful information
  • Are comfortable working independently and coming up with your own ideas
  • Speak fluent English
  • Are currently based in Europe

Experience studying, living, or traveling extensively in Europe is a major plus. Experience with higher education or study abroad content is helpful, but not required.

Location

You must be based in Europe for this role.

Part of the job will involve getting out from behind the computer and actually showing our audience what studying and living in Europe looks like.

You do not need to live in one specific country. Being somewhere with relatively easy access to other European destinations is ideal.
