A free community of American parents and students navigating affordable, English-taught degrees in Europe — real questions, real answers, real families a few steps ahead of you.

A guided path to an affordable degree abroad.
Beyond The States has helped American students since 2015 find, apply to, and afford accredited, English-taught bachelor’s and master’s degree programs across Europe — no foreign language required, often with little to no tuition.
Unbelievable Savings
Tuition rates are fixed and low. Many top countries (like Germany or Norway) offer tuition completely free, even for Americans.
Graduate in 3 Years
European bachelor’s degrees skip the general ed requirements. Students dive straight into their major and finish a year faster than they would in the US.
Global Citizens
Classes are taught in English alongside students from around the world, so your kid graduates fluent in independence and with a resume that actually stands out.
Holistic Transitions
Admissions come down to grades and criteria, not the SAT grind, essay-writing contests, or a scramble for the “right” recommendation letters.

What families are saying.

“Left my ❤️ in Europe this morning. He’s all settled in, been through orientation, starts class tomorrow. Made a few friends already, and has even learned to navigate around town on his bike like a proper Dutchie. HaHa. We cannot thank you enough Jenn Viemont and the many friends here in the BTS community. What an experience these kids are getting! Now to figure out my next chapter….which will surely involve racking up the SkyMiles! 🥰❤️”

“We’ve been in NL the last two weeks traveling around and getting my son settled in. The wild ride of all the paperwork and hoop jumping has mostly come to an end, and now he’s got a bike, a working SIM card, a BSN number, a way to access money, and a visa ready to be picked up. Whew!
Thank you so much to this group for all the wonderful, helpful, insightful, kind, and encouraging words. Nothing worth doing is easy, but this group sure takes the sting out of so much of this journey.
Sending love to all families who are saying goodbye to kids this season, whether it’s the first time or the bazillionth time! ❤️”

“Barrett picked up his Chemical Engineering diploma from the University of Groningen! It’s been two years since he graduated, but the University has a big ceremony twice a year. I couldn’t go because my passport wasn’t up to date, and I wasn’t able to get an appointment in time. But his dad and his aunt Susannah went with him. Barrett was fine with it (maybe even happy since I wouldn’t be taking a million photos), he mostly just wanted to see his friends anyway. The diploma was an excuse to go. Thank you Beyond the States for making it possible!”
