Bad Honnef
About the City
Bad Honnef is located in the heart of central Europe in a residential setting. The nearby Rhine River is famous for its castles, and it is a prime wine region in Germany and Europe. Bad Honnef is a suburb of Bonn, the former capital of Germany, and is host to many United Nations organizations. It is the city of the famous composer Ludwig von Beethoven and is known for its vibrant urban core. Located very close to Bad Honnef is Cologne, the great cathedral city, and the picturesque Black Forest area of Germany. Two of the great capital cities of Europe (and the world)—Paris and Berlin—are easy to reach by train. You are on the doorstep of the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, besides the whole of Germany. Even Switzerland, Austria, and northern Italy are within easy reach.
