A Master’s degree in Astronomy gives you an introduction to conducting research in astronomy. You learn to use modern tools to work with astronomical observations and to solve theoretical problems.In this study programme we emphasise a theoretical understanding of astrophysics and practical use of methods from mathematics, physics and informatics to solve problems in astronomy. Such expertise is not only essential for conducting basic research in astronomy, but it is also in considerable demand in applied research.You can choose to specialise in one of the following fields:• Cosmology• Solar PhysicsYour Master’s studies will include writing a thesis. The preparation will entail learning about basic research and conducting your own valuable research. This provides you with experience that will later be transferrable to diverse work situations.

Admissions Requirements
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required. Applicants from non-anglophone countries must provide proof of English proficiency (TOEFL 90 and IELTS 6.5).Undergraduate GPA is evaluated and typical requires at least a 3.0 average. Admission Deadline: December 1
