As a Biobased Materials student, you’ll be part of an intellectual community in which staff and students together create a learning environment that fosters the desire to learn and develop. Our location at Chemelot also creates the possibility for close contact with local companies and research institutes that are becoming part of this community through our work together.As the planet is running out of fossil fuels, alternative resources for materials and plastics need to be identified and developed. We need a new generation of scientists to discover new materials and sustainable production methods that make use of biological resources. This provides an opportunity for the development of novel materials with completely new material properties. The master’s programme in Biobased Materials allows you to play a part in this revolution, preparing you for a career in the research, development, production and application of biobased materials.

Admissions Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as: Biological studies relevant to the field of biobased materials, Chemistry, Polymer science and engineering, Biomedical engineering, Biotechnology or other bachelor's programs related to or containing (bio)chemistry and/or materials science. At least 15 ECTS (or equivalent) in mathematics at bachelor's level is required. Other required documents are: a copy of your valid passport, a recent portrait picture, CV, Letter of motivation, Letter of recommendation.
