The Master’s in Data Science is a one-year program developed to provide professionals in Informatics Engineering, Computer Science and Computer Technology with the skills and knowledge they need to face the challenges posed by the high demand for solutions to successfully conduct the different stages involved in the data-science workflow: data preparation, actual analysis, report and communication, and considering both the methodological and technological aspects of the process. The ultimate goal is to solve complex problems through innovative methods applicable to fields as varied as Digital Marketing, Social Networks, Human Resources, E-commerce, Internet of Things, Financial Analytics, Biology, and Biomedicine, to name only a few.The European MSc in Data Science (MDS) began in the 2019/2020 academic year and is part of the postgraduate programs offered by the School of Computer Science of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. It is conducted by the Department of Artificial Intelligence (DIA), the Department of Computer Languages and Systems and Software Engineering (DLSIIS) and the Department of Computer Systems Architecture and Technology (DATSI). At this time, the Master’s degree is coordinated by the Department of Artificial Intelligence (DIA). The MSc in Data Science is a face-to-face Master’s program, and lessons take place at the School of Computer Science of Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
