MEcon offers a comprehensive education in economics based on the core areas of Macro- and Mircoeconomics as well as Econometrics. The Master’s degree programme in Economics (MEcon) provides in-depth theoretical and empirical knowledge in order to analyse the social and economic challenges of our time. Data analysis has become a central component of developed economies due to the advance of digitalisation. Hence, over recent years processing and analysing Big Data has become increasingly important. MEcon provides you with the necessary tools to analyse economic policy problems using state-of-the-art methods and to develop successful strategies. You will thus be well prepared for responsible positions when you enter the job market. Learning Objectives Master in EconomicsWith MEcon you develop a clear understanding of the central economic and social relationships.You acquire in-depth methodological and theoretical knowledge for empirical research and can apply this knowledge already during your studies.You learn to handle large amounts of data. You will get to know different tools for data processing and can analyze and interpret the data in an economics context.You will learn to use your economic knowledge to solve real economic and social problems (incentive theory, corporate governance, globalization, aging societies, unemployment, welfare state, growth, etc.).In addition, your management and communication skills are trained.
