Profile
The main educational objective of the Master of Science in Engineering Physics is to acquire detailed knowledge in the scientific and technological fields, together with a solid background in general engineering subjects, allowing transfer of innovation to the high tech industrial sectors, mainly dealing with photonics and advanced materials. In particular, the areas of engineering and solid-state physics are explored which represent the basis of advanced technologies such as nanotechnology and photonics, which have been judged enabling technologies by several international research and development programmes, including those supported by the European Community. The presence of various experimental laboratory modules, within different courses, means that the students are faced with realistic problems throughout their studies. The final objective of this Master of Science Programme is to prepare an engineer able to “produce” innovation both in the industrial environment as well as in basic research and that is highly competitive in the global market, with particular reference to the physical and photonic technologies.
