Does the world of finance attract you like no other? Do you aim for a career in which you address challenges, such as private equity, corporate governance and asset management? The Financial Economics specialisation covers it all.In one of the three tracks – Corporate Finance, Investments or International Finance – you will acquire deep and systematic knowledge of the driving force behind companies, markets and economies. You learn to analyse and explain complex financial and business problems, including setting up and executing a scientifically sound research project based on a financial problem of your own choice. In the process, you learn how to effectively communicate and be critical, self-directed and original in your approach.Depending on one’s personal preferences, courses and electives present an excellent way to get acquainted with a variety of topics that are essential for Financial Economics. The Master’s specialisation consists of core courses, electives, seminars and a Master’s thesis distributed over five blocks of eight weeks.Core courses and electives help you to get acquainted with a wide range of topics that are essential for financial economics, and provide you with a solid background for attending the seminars. Seminars are the most important component of the Master’s specialisation. For these intensive courses, active participation and commitment is a prerequisite. You are expected to present excerpts of literature or case applications, ask questions, express doubts and share your ideas in class discussions.The specialisation allows you to elect from the available seminars in corporate finance, international finance and investments. The last block of the specialisation is devoted to the Master’s thesis. The thesis is written individually under close supervision by one of our academic staff members.

Admissions Requirements
A bachelor’s degree (BSc) in the field of economics, econometrics or business (administration). Your bachelor's degree needs to consist of a solid background in economics, business economics, mathematics and statistics.
