Semester 1 covers basic topics in fire protection engineering, and students have a choice of being taught in Ghent or Edinburgh. All students spend semester 2 in Lund, with emphasis on enclosure fire dynamics, risk analysis and human behaviour. Semester 3 is again taught in Ghent (for general Fire Safety Engineering (FSE)) or Edinburgh (with focus on fire and structures engineering in the context of FSE). Semester 4 is dedicated to the Master’s thesis, and students are hosted by one of the 3 full partner institutes, or an Associated Partner institute or even a company.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree with a major in civil / structural / mechanical / electrical / chemical / industrial engineering, material sciences,chemistry, physics, applied physics, architecture, urbanism and spatial planning or a related discipline. The application deadline is April 30th.
