Profile
Geology graduates from the University of Aarhus get jobs in a wide range of areas, and in the last five years, it appears that all graduates have found work. Denmark is fortunate enough to be one of the very few oil-exporting countries in Europe and there are therefore a number of positions in the oil industry – both within Denmark and in countries like Norway, the UK, Canada, Spain, Greenland and Germany, where the oil industry is facing a generational change among its geologists. There are many other options, however. Geologists from private engineering firms help public administration find groundwater and make sure that the water that comes out of the taps in people’s homes is of the desired quality. Geologists also participate in large building and construction assignments, where they determine whether the projects are at all feasible.
