This Health Economics Master’s specialisation was designed for students who are interested in taking an economic and quantitative approach to health care. It is a focused economics programme, dedicated to health care, which aims to provide students with the latest concepts and tools for economic and econometric analysis.This includes the analysis of the peculiar functioning of health care markets and the economic evaluation of treatments, policies or health care programmes. The programme consists of 6 blocks of 8 weeks. In the first 3 you will follow the 6 compulsory courses, focusing on applied microeconomics, applied macroeconomics and applied econometrics, but also on the health-specific quantitative tool of health technology assessment (HTA). The 3 electives in block 4 and 5 offer you ample room to tailor the programme exactly to your wishes. They allow further specialisation in topics such as health technology assessment, global health, and pharmaceutical pricing. Block 4 is also the moment when you start working on your master’s thesis. This will continue until the end of block 6, which is devoted entirely to your thesis.There is scope to do individual research in the master thesis and several courses also require individual research assignments, presentations and group discussions and presentations. Particular attention is given to a quantitative approach of health economic problems.

Admissions Requirements
A bachelor’s degree (BSc) in the field of economics, econometrics or business (administration). Your bachelor's degree needs to consist of a solid background in economics, business economics, mathematics and statistics.
