During the Europaeum programme you will focus on exploring the processes, values and ideas that shaped Europe from medieval to modern times. You may tailor the programme to match your specific interests or research requirements. You will spend a trimester at each of the three prestigious academic partner institutions, receiving specialist courses, lectures, seminars, and individual tutorials. During your studies you will develop the specific research skills and knowledge to produce a significant piece of your own quality research in this field. You will graduate with a certificate from the Europaeum, an association of Europe’s top ten universities, in addition to your MA in History degree from Leiden University.The Europaeum Programme: European History & Civilisation leads to a Master of Arts in History diploma awarded by Leiden University, with an additional certificate presented by the Europaeum, an association consisting of ten leading European universities.All courses are taught by academics who are active researchers. The curriculum is regularly updated to reflect contemporary academic debates and the very latest insights. Regular seminars are held presenting students with our researchers’ latest findings. Your research thesis is often linked to one of the research projects of our faculty members, who play an active role in every individual’s education, acting as mentors and community builders.

A bachelor's degree in History or in a related field with completed accredited historical courses, CV, Writing sample, Thesis proposal, Letters of recommendation, Motivation letter.
