Profile
The Master of Science in ICT for Smart Societies has a highly multidisciplinary nature. It addresses aspects of research and design and provides the analysis methods for ICT-based complex systems in different application domains, thus allowing entry in highly competitive companies, in industrial or public research centres of excellence, or continuation of studies in the Ph.D. program. To facilitate entry into international companies and research centres, all courses are held in English. The MSc in ICT for Smart Societies favours methodological rather than descriptive content, hence it trains specialists with solid and long lasting skills that are needed for an immediate entry into the world of production, but that are also necessary as bases for continuous training updates. With its highly cross curricular approach the MSc in ICT for Smart societies provides methodological skills in telecommunications, computer science and in other sectors of IT engineering that are necessary to promote innovation in scientific areas that are traditionally not ICT related, such as production and supply of electrical power, patient healthcare and treatment, environmental protection, transportation and planning of innovative cities and buildings. MSc engineers are able to operate within: research, design and development of diagnostic applications for public healthcare; control of intelligent energy supply networks; planning and control of transport systems; design of innovative and environmentally sustainable buildings; and territory monitoring and control.
