The master’s degree in Mathematics imparts expanded and in-depth knowledge and skills in the field of (applied) mathematics and statistics. Here, recesses possible in the following areas:-Applied analysis-Applied Statistics-Discrete MathematicsThe deepening is based on a previous common mathematical foundation in all three areas. Students acquire another application-oriented qualification through the extension subjects Informatics and Information and Communications Engineering. This gives them an introduction to interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of technical subjects offered at the University of Klagenfurt. The actual range of interdisciplinary cooperation opportunities after completing the master’s degree in Mathematics is many times wider and ranges from technology to the natural and biological sciences to the economic and financial sectors.This training provides students with sound qualifications to be used in finance and insurance, technology companies, consulting, medical and pharmaceuticals, as well as in research and post-secondary educational institutions.The emphasized practical relevance of the master’s degree, based on a broad and deep scientific foundation, also improves career opportunities here.
