Profile
The course of study is designed in such a way as to enable further expansion and expansion in one or more of the various areas of the mechanical engineering system, on the basis of a solid foundation in mechanics, which is the basic discipline of mechanical engineering. Through the elective subjects in different subjects the student is offered the opportunity to develop according to his / her interests and to form his / her own profile. The diversity of elective courses promotes interdisciplinary profiling. A solid foundation in the basic principles of mechanical engineering, combined with a subsequent large choice of personal, interdisciplinary profiling as well as the strong research orientation, form the innovative core of the course. In the first semester of the three-semester studies, basic methodological knowledge is taught in a broad spectrum of topics in mechanics including flow mechanics, solid-state mechanics and mechanics of the multi-body systems. Modern simulation tools are used to calculate technical sequences and to predict their effects in the above-mentioned areas. Through the accompanying deepening in mathematics a theoretically well-founded handling of the simulation programs used is made possible. In order to round off the basics, basic knowledge of measurement technology is taught, which can be deepened within the framework of elective courses or in the course of the later professional life.
