The main part of the second year consists of individual research practices in the form of laboratory projects carried out in research groups at Uppsala University, or sometimes at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Stockholm University, Karolinska Institute, biomedical companies or a government agency. Hereby you will immerse yourself in research and, under supervision, plan and carry out experimental work, and critically evaluate and summarise the results. You will also participate in other activities of the research group such as literature seminars, research presentations and group meetings. You will make the choices of research groups and projects for these internships.In addition, theoretical research-related instruction is given in selected areas, including new methods and techniques used in biomedical research, current research themes, cell signalling, experimental animal models, alternatives to animal experiments, ethical approaches and considerations in research, biostatistics and written and oral research presentations including practical exercises e.g. with help of video recordings.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with a major in life sciences.Applicants from non-anglophone countries must provide proof of English proficiency.Application deadline for non EU students is January 15.
