Profile
Technical specialties for the health sector are the new stars among the technical sciences. While other disciplines have almost exhausted their development potential, cross-divisional technological advances, as well as current social trends, promise significant long-term growth and a multitude of new opportunities. And there is probably no place better suited for studying with a focus on medical and sports equipment technology than Innsbruck, which can look back on a long and successful history in both areas. As a supplement to the Mechatronics & Smart Technologies course, the MCI has therefore developed an innovative master’s course that deals in particular with the technological aspects of the fields of medical, health and sports equipment technology. The courses are held in English. The new Master’s degree in Medical Technologies is intended to contribute to expanding the existing know-how in this area and further strengthening Tyrol as a “big player”. Experts from academic, scientific and economic areas developed this course, which is also supported by the state of Tyrol. The course is also part of the Life & Science Cluster Tyrol (LHSCT) and Campus Tirol, which enables ideal cooperation in this network. Particularly noteworthy is the partnership with the Medical University of Innsbruck, with whose help the bachelor’s degree in medical technology at the MCI has already been developed, which serves as the basis for the new master’s program.
