This master’s programme is carried out in English.The master’s programme in Microbiology provides German and international students with a well founded education in promising field. It consists of research oriented focus areas in environmental microbiology, and is generally taught in English. The Institute for Chemistry and Marine Biology (ICBM), in conjunction with other institutes in the greater region of Groningen, Emden, Oldenburg, and Bremen, offers a broad range of options in microbiology. Apart from the universities, a number of research institutes contribute to this programme, including the Max-Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology in Bremen, the Alfred-Wegener-Institute in Bremerhaven, as well as the Senckenberg-Institute in Wilhelmshaven. The fact that the programme is offered in English facilitates better access to science and to the international labour market.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants should have a bachelor's degree with a major in biology or equivalent. Applicants from non-anglophone countries should provide proof of English proficiency. The application deadline for non-EU students is September 30.
