Profile
The Master’s Programme in Music, Folk/World Music Interpretation is a programme for students with a clear idea of what they wish to develop in their musicianship. A major part of the programme will be based on your own project idea and we expect that you will take responsibility for your own development. Seminars and supervision sessions are intended to support this independent process. You will need to have a solid background in and be very familiar with one or more styles within the folk music or non-Western classical music genres (e.g., classical Arabic music or Indian classical music). The programme’s various subjects will help you develop written and oral skills that are ultimately intended to help you meet the demands of professional life as a musician and those of the market. The programme is intended to prepare you for your role as a freelance musician at the international level. The degree also gives qualification to apply for doctoral studies.
