The technique of making paper is as old as our calendar. Even in the age of the internet, paper is still the most important information carrier and will continue to be so in the future as the advertising trend returns to the most sustainable form of recycled and printed organic fibres.Because the organic fibre and paper industry is one of the most international high-tech sectors and one of the 10 most capital-intensive industries in the world, the Master in Paper Technology in Munich is only offered in English. This is the only place in Europe where this course of study can be completed and because no German-language skills are required, our students come from over 10 nations around the world.Students acquire current knowledge in all relevant areas of paper and cardboard manufacturing and gain deep insights in all of the important topics in this industry In addition, you can choose from a range of elective subjects based on your personal preferences. Thanks to the massive support of the industry and our affiliated institute, the Institute for Paper Technology (IVP), the laboratories are very well supplied and equipped with the latest technology. The small teaching groups and a personal relationship with the professors create exceptionally good academic conditions. Students have the opportunity to produce and print their own newspaper on the pilot paper machine. Laboratory work and research projects provide endless scope for creativity.
