Process Engineering
Profile
Such as biotechnology, particle technology, separations, transport and reaction processes with mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, and biology. This integration is critical for multidisciplinary areas, such as bio-separations, bioengineering, micro-nano processing, flame and plasma processing of materials, clean gas technologies for greenhouse gas sequestration, and hydrogen synthesis, as well as food, pharmaceutical, and dental materials processing.Tools ranging from computer simulation and systems modeling to advanced experimental techniques are developed and applied to provide a deeper understanding of underlying phenomena and process characteristics.Products and systems created by engineers have the potential to significantly affect society. The social context in which process engineering is practised and its broad interdependencies are reflected in complementary courses in economics, organisation and management, political science, and humanities.
