Profile
The goal of the master programme is to provide an introduction to development policy at the international and regional level for students with bachelor degrees in Economics, Geography or other related areas. Our students acquire extensive knowledge of Environmental Economics (i.e. sustainability issues) and wide range of strategic planning and management skills focusing mainly on the public sector. The Institute of Economic Geography, Geoeconomy and Sustainable Development is committed to providing the highest quality regional and environmental economics programme in East-Central Europe. Therefore, the programme is characterised by interactive and on-site practical classes, group projects, with a strong focus on the international dimension as well as the exploration of alternative economic schools of thought. MA in Regional and Environmental Economics provides an excellent opportunity to get familiar with public planning and environment protection, as well as standards, trends and approaches of policy-making and regulation from an international point of view. The program also offers an insight into the Central-Eastern European region’s specific challenges and perspectives. The programme places strong emphasis on practise, therefore students of the program are supported to get traineeship positions at Hungarian organisations, companies and EU institutions.
