This is the only programme in Scandinavia that offers a specialisation in Old Norse and Celtic philology supplemented by optional interdisciplinary studies. The aim of the programme is to provide a deeper understanding of the Nordic Viking Age and Medieval times and the neighbouring Celtic culture. This should be accomplished through in-depth studies of literary sources (texts) and historical objects.The programme is directed at overseas and Norwegian students who are interested in taking an interdisciplinary approach to the Viking and Middle Ages, in an international environment.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants must have a bachelor's degree with a major in a related field and a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants from non-anglophone countries must provide proof of English proficiency. The application period for non EU students is from October 1 to December 1.
