Business (Common Entry)
Profile
This course equips you with the applied skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in business, thus ensuring you will have a wide range of career options. In the first two years you will explore the fundamentals of business and from Year 3, you can specialise in an area of interest.
Students decide on their chosen area of specialism in either Business or Business with Digital Marketing. The Business stream is focused around four key pillars – management, finance/economics, business technology and marketing. Specially focused modules, such as fund accounting, are targeted at students interested in a career in financial services, while practical modules in data analytics and computerised accounting enhance employability skills. Students also have opportunities to develop their own business ideas through the development of business plans and in entrepreneurship.
The discipline of marketing is going through deep changes because of technology disruption. This change has borne new roles and areas of expertise collectively known as ‘Digital Marketing’. Organisations are adapting across the marketing lifecycle, from product conception to development, in advertising to selling and aftersales. With the Digital Marketing specialism, you will have the opportunity to work with students and staff from a design background to find creative solutions to marketing issues.
