The study programme closely combines the fields of Computer Science and Mathematics. It relies on a strong theoretical basis that serves as a prerequisite for the establishment of an effective computer science programme. In the following decade, major challenges will be posed in the integration of various scientific disciplines, and Mathematics (as a universal language of science) and Computer Science (as a field gaining ground in ever more optimal exploitation of the richness of this language) are poised to play a leading role in this area.The study programme, moreover, places special emphasis on cultivating this connection by building on theory with practice, motivating students to apply practical solutions in problem solving.
