Profile
Through training in your principal instrument and the conducting subject, you will become a valuable resource with knowledge of many aspects of music. The programme features a special combination of relevant courses, giving you a specialised background focusing on music, performance and leadership.
The programme of studies is organised in two modules, each of two years’ duration. In the first module, you will work with basic musicianship following a relatively fixed course of study. You will gain practical experience as a conductor with both the Academy’s in-house ensembles and outside ensembles.
In the second module, you will concentrate more on conducting, and you will also be able to choose an area of specialisation from a wide selection of elective courses.
You will receive instruction on your main instrument for the first three years of the programme.
