Creative Computing
Profile
Students study core computing subject areas, such as Web and Mobile Development, Computer Science and Databases, with creative subject areas such as UX (User Experience) Design, Graphic Design, Animation and Media Production.
Students can choose the option of Industry Placement during Flexible Semester in year 3. This allows academic theory to be put into practice while gaining valuable insights into working life. Industry Placement enhances employability and kick-starts the creation of a network of potential contacts for future careers. Along with Industry Placement, there are a number of alternative options available during Flexible Semester.
Graduates are highly employable allowing them to pursue a career in both the computing and creative media industry. If you would like to study a Computer Science Course and you also like Creative Media, this might be the course for you!

Admissions Requirements
Secondary/High School Diploma, with good grades in English and Mathematics and at least 4 other subjects, on average + 60%.
Notes
For EU: first time undergraduate students pursuing a full time programme will qualify for free tuition fee funding, however, please refer to http://www.studentfinance.ie for full details of the “Free Fees Initiative” ( F.F.I ) scheme. The Student Contribution Charge for the academic year 2023/2024 is €3,000. All third level undergraduate students are liable to pay this fee, unless they qualify for a SUSI grant.
Application deadline for EU students is February 1. There is a late closing date of 1st May but this is not available for all courses or for some categories of applicant. There is a special late closing date of 22nd July for all students currently registered in SETU Waterford or another HEI who wish to transfer to the first year of a different programme.
