Information, ability to find it, manage and summarise it are fundamental values of modern society. Information Management Study Programme is designed to prepare specialists capable to work both in traditional information storage and management institutions (libraries, archives, museums, etc.) as well as in modern (businesses, various organisations, large data management institutions, etc.). In addition to various ways of finding, managing and storing information, students also learn to develop, provide information-related educational, cultural and other services to different target groups in society, identify and evaluate people’s information needs and behaviour. This programme should be chosen by attentive and creative people who are inclined to humanities, social sciences, and in part, information sciences, because a lot of information today is virtual. It is also relevant that the programme is carried out only in Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences. Under the double diploma contract, it is possible to study at the same time not only at Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences, but also at the Porto Institute of Accounting and Administration (ISCAP) of the Porto Polytechnic Institute (Portugal).Šiauliai State University of Applied Sciences is the only higher education institution in Lithuania that prepares information management specialists. Graduates work in both traditional information storage and management institutions (libraries, archives, museums, etc.) as well as in modern (businesses, various organisations, large data management institutions, etc.). Under the double diploma agreement, it is possible to choose to study at the Porto Institute of Accounting and Administration (ISCAP) of the Porto Polytechnic Institute (Portugal).
